Toraf garden parsley Festival 68 (Petroselinum crispum) is a curled-leaf parsley variety developed for fresh herb production. Seeds are provided for sowing in garden beds or into rows; the packaging references a 7 m sowing length. Festival 68 forms dense rosettes of finely curled leaves with the typical parsley aroma and is intended for repeated harvests of fresh green material for culinary use. This variety is suitable for small-scale cultivation in kitchen gardens, allotments and similar outdoor plots and adapts to standard temperate garden conditions.

Advantages

Festival 68 offers a consistent habit of compact, upright rosettes and a high proportion of curled, attractive leaves that are convenient for harvesting and garnishing. The variety is selected for steady leaf production over a growing season, making it practical for continuous fresh harvesting. Seeds packaged for a 7 m reference allow planning of sowing density and expected planting length.

Suitable for

• Home kitchen gardens and raised beds
• Allotment plots and community gardens
• Small-scale fresh herb production for household use
• Planting in rows for staggered harvests

Key specifications

• Species: Petroselinum crispum (curled-leaf parsley)
• Growth habit: compact rosette forming, upright leaf stems
• Leaf type: finely curled, bright green
• Intended use: fresh herb for culinary seasoning and garnishing
• Sowing reference: seed quantity indicated for approximately 7 metres of row
• Suitable environments: outdoor garden beds and rows in temperate climates

How to use

Sow seeds in prepared garden beds or formed rows in a sunny to partially shaded position with well-drained fertile soil. Lightly cover seeds with fine soil, keep the seedbed moist and thin seedlings to maintain spacing that encourages air circulation and leaf development. Harvest outer leaves or cut stems as needed once plants have reached sufficient size, allowing continuous regrowth from the central rosette. Follow local sowing dates for parsley to avoid frost risk during germination and early growth.

Recommendations

For steady fresh supply, sow in successive short rows or perform staggered sowings at intervals of two to four weeks during the main growing season. Regular watering and periodic light feeding promote leaf production; avoid waterlogging. Harvest early in the day for the best flavour and store cut herbs refrigerated for short-term use.
