The external network card AXAGON ADE-25RC easily converts USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) port to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port. It is compatible with 10/100/1000/2500 Mbit/s transfer speeds. The network adapter with 2.5 Gb/s speed expands the computer with a very fast and stable network connection, adds the missing RJ-45 network connector, adds another network card, or replaces the original non-functional network connection.

In addition to 2.5 gigabit throughput, the LAN adapter offers a wide range of features, such as IPv4/IPv6 checksum to reduce CPU load by checksums, the crossover detection and auto-correction, TCP large send offload, support for various modes of the Wake-on-LAN feature, the work with virtual LAN (VLAN) and advanced Power Management features. The advantage of the IEEE 802.3bz standard is that standard Cat 5e and Cat 6 Ethernet cables up to 100 m long can be used for 2.5 Gb/s speed.

How to use

Connect the fixed USB-C plug to a compatible USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port on your computer. The adapter is bus-powered so no additional power supply is required. Plug an Ethernet cable (UTP/STP Cat5e or Cat6) into the RJ-45 connector. On supported modern Windows systems the adapter installs automatically; on other systems follow the printed manual to install drivers if needed. After connection, check the LEDs to confirm link and network activity and configure network settings in the operating system as required.

Recommendations

For best 2.5 Gb/s performance use Cat5e or Cat6 cables up to 100 m and ensure the host system supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 or Thunderbolt 3/4.
