AOC CBO AOC-SFP-25G-7M-BO 7 m SFP28 cabo ótico ativo 25 Gbit/s

The AOC CBO AOC-SFP-25G-7M-BO 7m SFP28 Active Optical Cable 25 Gbit/s is a 7‑meter direct‑attach SFP28 link designed for high‑speed connections between switches, servers and network appliances. This Active Optical Cable (AOC) supports 25 Gbit/s data rates over a single cable assembly, offering an alternative to traditional copper DACs and transceiver-plus-fiber solutions where distance, weight and EMI immunity are important. The compact SFP28 form factor ensures compatibility with SFP28 ports commonly found in modern data centre and enterprise network equipment.

Advantages

The cable provides low latency and stable throughput for 25 Gbit/s links while reducing electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives. Its optical construction reduces cable bulk and weight for cleaner rack management and easier routing over a 7‑metre span. Built for plug‑and‑play deployment in SFP28 ports, it simplifies cabling and eliminates the need for separate optical transceivers and patch cords in point‑to‑point connections. The sealed optical assembly also contributes to consistent signal integrity across the supported distance.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch uplinks in data centres
• Switch-to-switch stacking and leaf‑spine connections
• High‑performance network appliances and NIC connections
• Enterprise racks requiring mid‑range interconnects up to 7 m

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 active optical cable
• Length: 7 metres
• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s (per link)
• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Media: optical (active optical cable)
• Typical applications: short‑to‑mid‑reach direct attach between network devices
• Advantages: low latency, reduced EMI, lightweight cabling

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the two network devices until the latch engages. Ensure both devices are powered and configured to operate at the 25 Gbit/s link speed or an auto‑negotiated compatible mode. Verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces and check that the ports accept AOC modules if the equipment requires vendor compatibility settings. For removal, depress the latch and gently extract the connector to avoid stressing the optical assembly.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain manufacturer minimum bend radius; avoid kinking and excessive pulling force. Use strain relief and proper rack management to prevent mechanical stress. Confirm firmware and port compatibility on both ends for reliable link establishment, and keep the connector dust caps until installation to protect optical interfaces.
