AOC CBO SFP-AOC-10G-7M Cabo ótico ativo 10G para SFP+ 7 m

AOC CBO SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10G Active Optical Cable for SFP+ 7 m is a factory-terminated, fixed-length active optical connection designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet environments. The 7-meter AOC integrates optical transceivers into the cable ends, delivering a low-power, low-latency direct-attach solution for servers, switches and storage devices that accept SFP+ ports. This single-cable approach removes the need for discrete transceiver modules and separate fiber patch cords while preserving signal integrity over short data center links and short-reach backbone connections.

Advantages

The cable provides consistent 10 Gb/s performance with minimal power consumption and reduced heat compared with pluggable transceivers plus separate patching. Its fixed 7 m length simplifies installation planning and cable management in dense racks and conduit runs. Integrated connectors are keyed for SFP+ form-factor compatibility and reduce the number of field-assembled components, lowering the risk of connector mismatch or mispatching in multi-vendor environments.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between top-of-rack switches and aggregation switches within the same room
• Direct links between servers and storage arrays with SFP+ ports
• Short-reach backbone connections inside data center aisles or equipment rooms

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gigabit per second (10 Gb/s)
• Form factor: SFP+ active optical cable (integrated transceivers)
• Length: 7 meters fixed
• Medium: multimode optical fiber with active electronics
• Latency: low-latency optical interconnect suitable for server and switch uplinks
• Power consumption: lower than comparable pluggable transceiver plus patch-cord solutions

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on networking equipment until the connector latches. Ensure both ends are seated and the host devices are powered on; most systems will auto-negotiate the 10 Gb/s link. No separate transceiver or fiber patch cable is required. Follow vendor guidelines for SFP+ port handling and electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions during installation.

Recommendations

Use the 7 m AOC in environments where fixed-length, low-power 10 Gb/s links reduce rack clutter and simplify cable management. Verify SFP+ port compatibility with device firmware and approved vendor lists before deployment, and avoid tight bends or physical strain on the cable to maintain signal performance and cable longevity.
