Cabo AOC CBO SFP28-AOC-5M 5 m — cabo ótico ativo, compatível com Palo Alto Networks (SFP28)

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28-AOC-5M is a 5-metre SFP28-compatible AOC designed for 25Gbps links between SFP28 ports. The cable provides a fiber-equivalent optical connection without separate transceivers, reducing electromagnetic interference and offering a compact, flexible alternative to copper DACs for short to medium reach installations. It is compatible with Palo Alto Networks SFP28 interfaces and is intended for data centre and networking environments requiring reliable high-speed uplinks and server-to-switch or switch-to-switch interconnects.

Advantages

This Active Optical Cable supports 25Gbps full-duplex signalling while maintaining low power consumption and stable signal integrity over its 5-metre length. The integrated optical transceivers eliminate the need for separate SFP28 modules, simplifying inventory and installation. The optical medium reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with copper alternatives, and the lightweight, flexible cable construction facilitates cable management in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• 25Gbps server-to-switch uplinks
• Switch-to-switch connections in data centre racks
• High-performance networking in enterprise and service provider environments
• Short- to medium-range optical interconnects where transceiver simplicity is preferred

Key specifications

• Nominal data rate: 25Gbps (per link, full duplex)
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with integrated SFP28 connectors
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector form factor: SFP28-compatible on both ends
• Typical reach: short to medium range interconnect (designed for up to 5 m)
• Electrical characteristics: low power consumption compared to equivalent active copper solutions
• Immunity: low electromagnetic interference and reduced crosstalk due to optical link

How to use

Install the Active Optical Cable by inserting each SFP28-compatible end into the SFP28 ports of the devices to be connected, ensuring the connectors click into place and the port latch is secured where applicable. No separate transceiver modules or fibre patch cables are required. After physical installation, verify link status and speed on both devices and configure port settings in accordance with network policies. Handle the cable by the connectors and avoid tight bends; route the cable following standard data centre cable management practices.

Recommendations

Use this 5 m AOC for short to medium reach links inside racks or between adjacent racks. Avoid sharp bends and excessive pull force; maintain bend radius recommended by the manufacturer. Check compatibility lists for Palo Alto Networks SFP28 ports and confirm firmware or platform requirements when integrating into existing systems.
