CBO Coriant SFP-AOC-10G-7M cabo ótico ativo (AOC) 10 Gbit/s, 7 m, SFP+

Active Optical Cable CBO Coriant SFP-AOC-10G-7M is a factory-terminated SFP+ AOC that delivers 10 Gbps full-duplex connectivity over a 7 meter optical link. Designed for short-reach connections within racks and across adjacent racks, this SFP+ AOC provides an alternative to copper DACs by using optical fiber to achieve electrical isolation, reduced electromagnetic interference and predictable signal integrity for data center environments.

Advantages

The SFP-AOC-10G-7M offers plug-and-play compatibility with SFP+ ports, low latency and low power consumption compared with many active copper alternatives. Its 7 m length covers common top-of-rack and middle-of-row cabling needs without additional transceivers or patch cords. The optical construction eliminates ground loop concerns and reduces susceptibility to EMI, improving link stability in dense server and switch deployments.

Suitable for

• Top-of-rack (ToR) switch to server connections
• Switch-to-switch trunking within the same row or adjacent racks
• Short-reach server farm and storage interconnects
• High-density switch ports in data center aggregation and access layers

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ form-factor, hot-pluggable
• Data rate: 10 Gbps full-duplex
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Length: 7 meters
• Nominal latency: low, suitable for low-latency applications
• Power consumption: low power per port (typical for AOC design)
• Operating environment: designed for standard data center temperature ranges

How to use

Install the SFP-AOC-10G-7M by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the network devices until the latch engages. No separate drivers or configuration are typically required; the link should come up automatically when both ends detect each other and negotiate 10 Gbps. Verify link status and speed via the switch or server management interface. For safe handling, avoid bending the cable beyond its minimum bend radius and keep connectors free of dust prior to insertion.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use the 7 m AOC for intra-rack and adjacent-rack connections where 10 Gbps performance is required and electrical isolation is beneficial. Avoid running the cable in environments with extreme mechanical stress or outside the recommended temperature range. Inspect connector housings for contamination before installation and confirm interoperability with your SFP+ ports if using vendor-locked equipment.
