Box FRITZ! 6860 5G Edition International Router Wi-Fi Gigabit Ethernet Dual-Band (2,4 GHz / 5 GHz)

FRITZ 6860 5G Edition is a desktop wireless router that combines dual-band Wi‑Fi (2.4 / 5 GHz) with Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) to deliver up to 3000 Mbit/s throughput. The device features a 4x4 antenna configuration, Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and multi‑standard mobile support including 5G and HSPA/UMTS for mobile broadband fallback. LEDs provide quick status for power and WLAN, while web‑based management makes configuration and monitoring accessible from any browser. The router is designed for high‑speed home and small office Internet access where both fixed and mobile network connectivity are required.

Advantages

The FRITZ 6860 5G Edition supports current Wi‑Fi 6 technologies to improve throughput and device capacity across both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, and its 4x4 antenna design enhances spatial streams for better performance in multi‑device environments. With Gigabit Ethernet LAN interfaces it provides stable wired connections for demanding applications. Integrated multi‑standard mobile support (including 5G and HSPA/UMTS) enables automatic fallback or primary use of mobile broadband when fixed lines are unavailable. WPA2 and WPA3 security protocols help protect the wireless network.

How to use

Place the FRITZ 6860 5G Edition on a stable surface or mount it on a pole according to space and signal requirements. Connect the router to your Internet source via Ethernet or insert a compatible SIM card / USB mobile modem where applicable to enable mobile broadband. Use a web browser to access the web‑based management interface and follow the setup wizard to configure your WAN connection, Wi‑Fi SSIDs, security settings and LAN parameters. Position client devices to benefit from both 2.4 GHz for wider coverage and 5 GHz for maximum throughput where available.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, place the router centrally in the coverage area, avoid physical obstructions around the antenna area, and keep firmware up to date via the web interface. Use the 5 GHz band for bandwidth‑intensive applications and reserve 2.4 GHz for devices that require greater range. If using mobile broadband, check supported frequency bands with your network provider to ensure compatible 5G/HSPA/UMTS service.
