Select a drill bit with the appropriate diameter and length for the required hole. Insert the SDS‑Plus shank into the chuck of a compatible rotary hammer until it locks. Operate the hammer drill at the recommended speed and hammer setting for masonry or concrete, applying steady pressure. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear debris and prevent overheating.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask) and ensure the drill is suitable for SDS‑Plus bits. For reinforcement or deep holes, check for rebar and adjust technique and bit selection accordingly.
