Cabo SAS Microchip Technology 2305200-R 0,8 m

The Microchip Technology 2305200-R is a 0.8m internal SAS cable that provides direct attached connectivity between a SlimSAS ×8 (SFF-8654) interface and a 2SFF-8639 ×4 (U.3) connector. Designed for mixed-storage environments, this cable supports SAS, SATA and NVMe tri-mode operation when used with compatible adapters and devices. Its compact length and internal design make it suitable for rack and server chassis installations where short, reliable connections are required.

Advantages

The cable delivers reliable high-speed data transfer with a construction intended for internal server and storage arrays. Its SlimSAS ×8 to 2SFF-8639 ×4 configuration offers direct compatibility with U.3 drives and tri-mode adapters, reducing the need for additional converters. With a 0.8 meter length the cable minimizes signal loss and clutter inside chassis while enabling flexible routing in dense configurations.

Suitable for

• Connecting U.3 (2SFF-8639) storage drives to SlimSAS ×8 (SFF-8654) controller or backplane ports
• Internal connections inside rack-mounted servers and storage enclosures
• Tri-mode environments requiring SAS, SATA and NVMe interoperability
• Short-reach direct attached storage (DAS) setups and service/repair tasks

Key specifications

• Cable type: Internal SAS tri-mode cable (SlimSAS ×8 to 2SFF-8639 ×4)
• Connector 1: SlimSAS ×8 (SFF-8654)
• Connector 2: 2× SFF-8639 (U.3) combined connector supporting 4 lanes
• Length: 0.8 m
• Supported protocols: SAS, SATA, NVMe (tri-mode via compatible adapters)
• Intended use: Internal server/storage chassis cabling

How to use

Install the cable by firmly seating the SlimSAS ×8 (SFF-8654) end into the host controller or backplane slot and the 2SFF-8639 ×4 (U.3) end into the device or drive bay connector, ensuring correct orientation and secure retention. Route the cable inside the chassis to avoid sharp bends and interference with cooling airflow. Verify that attached devices and host adapters support tri-mode operation if SAS/SATA/NVMe interoperability is required, then power the system and confirm device detection in the host firmware or operating system.

Recommendations

Use this cable for short internal connections only; avoid external or wet environments. For best signal integrity, maintain gentle bend radii, avoid tight kinks, and secure the cable away from high-heat components. Confirm compatibility with your specific backplane, controller and drive models before deployment to ensure tri-mode functionality.
