The SILVERSTONE Grandia GD05 is a compact HTPC-style PC case designed for Mini-ITX, DTX and Micro-ATX systems. With a 325 mm depth and an aluminum-clad exterior, the GD05 balances a low-profile appearance with the capacity to house standard desktop components including an external 5.25" device bay, two 3.5" hard drives, two 2.5" drives or SSDs, a standard ATX power supply (up to 180 mm long) and full-length expansion cards up to 11" (280 mm). The case includes three filtered 120 mm side fans and an 80 mm rear fan mount to provide efficient cooling and reduced dust buildup while maintaining quiet operation.

Advantages

The GD05 combines small form factor styling with flexible interior space: its 325 mm depth allows installation inside home theater cabinets or on desktops while still supporting multiple drives and a standard power supply. Included silent 120 mm fans and a positive air pressure layout improve cooling efficiency and help prevent dust accumulation. The aluminum front skin and SECC/plastic construction provide a clean, classic look appropriate for living-room environments. Thoughtful cable routing and internal layout simplify assembly and upgrades without requiring short-cabled or modular PSUs.

How to use

Install an appropriate Mini-ITX, DTX or Micro-ATX motherboard and mount storage to the provided 3.5" and 2.5" bays or adapters. Fit a standard ATX power supply up to 180 mm in length in the bottom compartment, then route cables using the built-in cable routing channels to keep airflow unobstructed. Mount expansion cards (up to 11" length) and connect front-panel USB 3.0 ports as needed. Ensure the three side 120 mm fans and any rear fan are connected to fan headers or a fan controller to manage airflow and noise.

Recommendations

To maintain quiet operation and minimize dust, use the included filtered side fans and keep positive air pressure by ensuring intake airflow slightly exceeds exhaust. Regularly check and clean the fan filters and plan cable routing before final assembly to preserve airflow and simplify future upgrades.
