Caixa M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD Akasa AK-ENU4M2-01, PCIe Gen4 x4, até 40 GB/s

The Akasa AK-ENU4M2-01 is an external M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD enclosure that allows installation of a single M.2 NVMe module and connection via a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. Designed as a compact accessory for converting internal M.2 NVMe modules into portable high-speed storage, the enclosure supports reported throughput up to 40 GB/s and is suitable for tasks that require fast data transfer, backup and on-the-go editing. The unit is intended to host standard M.2 NVMe SSDs and to provide a stable PCIe Gen4 x4 link between the drive and a compatible host system.

Advantages

The enclosure provides PCIe Gen4 x4 connectivity for maximized sequential transfer rates when used with compatible drives and hosts, enabling high-speed external storage performance. Its compact form factor offers portability while maintaining thermal considerations suitable for sustained workloads. The design focuses on compatibility with M.2 NVMe modules and on delivering a direct PCIe connection to reduce protocol overhead compared with SATA-based solutions.

Suitable for

• Portable expansion of high-performance storage for laptops and desktops
• Fast external backups and image cloning
• On-location media editing and large file transfers
• Temporary storage for benchmarking and drive testing

Key specifications

• Interface to host: PCIe Gen4 x4
• Supported drive type: M.2 NVMe SSD (single module)
• Reported maximum throughput: up to 40 GB/s (dependent on drive and host)
• Form factor: compact external enclosure for M.2 module
• Typical use: external high-speed storage and data transfer

How to use

Install a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD into the enclosure following the manufacturer’s mechanical instructions, secure the module, and connect the enclosure to a host system that supports PCIe Gen4 x4. Ensure the host system has the necessary drivers and BIOS/firmware support for NVMe devices over PCIe. After connection, initialize and format the drive in the host operating system as required before use.

Recommendations

To achieve optimal performance, pair the enclosure with PCIe Gen4-compatible hosts and NVMe modules rated for Gen4 throughput. Allow for adequate cooling during sustained transfers, and verify that the drive is correctly seated and secured before powering the system. For data integrity, use reputable backup procedures and avoid disconnecting the enclosure during active read/write operations.
