Large storage for creators

Sony’s M Series CFexpress Type A memory cards are for dedicated creators, with the world's largest1 1920GB and 960GB capacities, for extended and demanding shoots. With VPG200 support, they deliver stable, high-datarate video recording.

Dependable capacity
Dramatically expand your creative possibilities, with plenty of capacity for worry-free shooting. The large 960 GB or 1920 GB storage capacities are indispensable for videographers shooting extended hours on location.

Sustained recording for video

M Series CFexpress Type A memory cards allow for continuous, high-bandwidth data writing, ideal for high-bitrate video recording such as XAVC S-I 4K 120p. For extra reassurance, they also support VPG200 of VPG Profile 4.0 Specification for video recording stability, and heat-dissipation is designed with movies in mind. Also, store two to three hours of movie data on location without worrying about the storage.

Efficient workflow

Accelerate your workflow with the MRW-G2 card reader and fast read speeds of up to 800 MB/s for quick data transfer and backup. Work seamlessly while handling large high-resolution photos and high-bitrate video, to turn projects around at the speed of your imagination.

Rugged. Reliable. Ready.

Partnered with professional equipment like the FX6, FX3, α1, α7S III and α7 IV, M Series CFexpress Type A memory cards are ideal for the unpredictability of sport and location shoots or the hazards of outdoor expeditions. They are designed for extended professional use in challenging environments, so that you can shoot, swap and store with total confidence.

For the roughest places

Thanks to Sony’s unique TOUGH card design, M Series CFexpress Type A memory cards offer professional dependability. They support 10 times greater bend resistance than the CFexpress 2.0 Specification, tested to 150 newtons to protect your card. Drop resistance is 5 times greater than mandated by the CFexpress 2.0 Specification, to withstand falls of up to 7.5 meters.

For the toughest conditions

You can rely on M Series CFexpress Type A memory cards to work faultlessly in extreme temperatures, harsh electrostatic environments and intense UV light or X rays. Carefully designed internal construction easily clears IP5X dust resistance and IP7X moisture resistance requirements (IP57).

How to use

Insert the CFexpress Type A card into a compatible camera or the MRW-G2 card reader. For video shooting, choose recording formats that match the card’s high-bitrate capability (for example XAVC S-I 4K 120p) and confirm the camera’s VPG200 settings if available. After shooting, connect the MRW-G2 reader to your computer to transfer files at read speeds up to 800 MB/s for fast backup. Store cards in protective cases when not in use and avoid exposing them to prolonged direct sunlight or uncontrolled moisture despite their robustness.

Recommendations

Use the 960 GB or 1920 GB M Series CFexpress Type A card for long events or high-bitrate workflows. Regularly back up footage after each location session and pair the card with the MRW-G2 reader for efficient file transfers.
