Conector de fusão ótica EasySplicer SCM101003 SC monomodo

EasySplicer SCM101003 SC single-mode splice-on connector is an SC-type termination designed for single-mode optical fiber. The connector enables direct fusion splicing of the fiber to the connector ferrule, providing compact terminations with low insertion loss and consistent mechanical alignment. Intended for use in both field and workshop environments, this splice-on connector creates a standard SC interface without the need for adhesive or polishing steps, simplifying single-mode fiber link installation and repairs.

Advantages

The splice-on connector offers low optical loss and stable mechanical alignment through precision ferrule geometry and compatibility with fusion splicing processes. Its SC form factor ensures interoperability with standard SC adapters and patch panels. The design reduces the number of parts and consumables required on site, eliminating adhesive and curing times typical of mechanical or epoxy-ceramic terminations. Compact dimensions and a consistent mating interface contribute to predictable performance in racks, enclosures, and field closures.

Suitable for

• Field installations and on-site repairs of single-mode fiber links
• Data center and telecommunication patch panels requiring SC terminations
• Splice enclosures and fiber distribution frames where compact connectors are needed
• Maintenance teams performing fusion-splice based connectorizations

Key specifications

• Connector type: SC simplex form factor
• Fiber type: single-mode (SM)
• Termination method: fusion splice to connector ferrule
• Typical insertion loss: low (dependent on splice quality and equipment)
• Physical interface: standard SC mating compatible
• Usage environment: suitable for field and workshop applications

How to use

Prepare the single-mode fiber by stripping, cleaning and cleaving according to the fusion splicer and connector manufacturer recommendations. Align the cleaved fiber with the connector ferrule in the fusion splicer and perform the fusion splice. After splicing, protect the splice with the recommended heat-shrink protector or strain relief sleeve and insert the connector into an SC adapter or panel for testing. Verify optical performance with an optical power meter or source and, if available, an OTDR to confirm acceptable insertion loss and return loss for the installation.

Recommendations

Use approved fusion splicer settings for single-mode fibers and follow the connector manufacturer's instructions for splice alignment and heat-protection. Store connectors in a clean, dry environment and inspect ferrules for contamination before mating. Perform post-installation testing to document insertion loss and ensure network compliance.
