Detetor ótico de fumo Hekatron HEK ORS 142 AT (modelo 31-5000017-04-03)

The Hekatron HEK ORS 142 AT optical smoke detector is a ceiling-mounted photoelectric sensor designed to provide early detection of visible smoke from smouldering fires. Intended for residential and commercial environments, the detector distinguishes between smoke particles and transient steam or dust to reduce false alarms. The device supports integration into compatible fire alarm systems as well as simple standalone use for basic protection and monitoring.

Advantages

The optical sensing chamber responds to scattering of light by smoke particles, enabling timely detection of slowly developing, smouldering fires. The detector's design reduces susceptibility to false triggers caused by steam and normal household dust, improving reliability in kitchens and bathrooms when positioned appropriately. Ceiling mounting provides wide area coverage and straightforward wiring for connection to compatible alarm panels or power sources. The compact housing and standardized mounting make installation and maintenance predictable and compatible with common ceiling fixtures.

Suitable for

• Private homes and apartments
• Office spaces and small commercial premises
• Corridors, living rooms, and bedrooms
• Integration with compatible wired alarm systems or standalone protection

Key specifications

• Detection principle: Optical (photoelectric) smoke sensing
• Mounting: Ceiling-mounted compact housing
• Detection target: Visible smoke from smouldering fires
• Resistance to false alarms: Reduced sensitivity to steam and transient dust
• Integration: Designed for compatible alarm system connection or standalone operation
• Typical use environment: Residential and light commercial interiors

How to use

Install the detector on the ceiling in the central area of the room or along escape routes, following local building and fire codes. Ensure the detector is located away from direct sources of steam, high dust accumulation, or strong airflow that could impair sensing. Connect the device to a compatible alarm panel according to the system wiring diagram, or power it as required for standalone operation. Regularly test the detector according to the manufacturer's testing procedure and replace devices or batteries per the recommended service intervals to maintain reliable detection.

Recommendations

Position the detector at least the minimum recommended distance from cooking appliances and bathrooms to avoid nuisance alarms from steam; avoid placing it directly above windows or vents that produce drafts. Perform periodic functional tests and visual inspections to check for dust buildup in the sensing chamber and follow cleaning instructions from the system installer or manufacturer's documentation.
