How to use

Install the AC650-256AP in a well-ventilated location and connect it to the network core using its Gigabit Ethernet ports. Use the RJ-45 console port or web/CLI management interfaces to perform initial configuration, add and authorize access points, and define SSIDs, security policies and VLAN settings. Monitor device status and managed APs through the controller’s management interface and apply firmware updates as needed.

Recommendations

Place the controller near the network aggregation point to minimize cable runs, ensure proper ventilation to maintain operating temperature, and back up configurations regularly. For larger deployments, plan AP capacity and radio coverage to match the AC650-256AP’s 256-AP limit and consider redundant management or higher-capacity controllers if required.
