The LevelOne FEU-0812 is a compact Fast Ethernet switch with eight 10/100BASE-TX RJ-45 ports designed for simple network expansion in home and small office environments. It operates at wire-speed with non-blocking architecture and supports auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX on all ports, allowing direct connection to routers, servers, hubs or other switches without crossover cables or dedicated uplink ports. How to use

Place the switch on a stable surface near your network devices and the power outlet. Connect each device using CAT5e/CAT6 cables to any of the eight RJ-45 ports; the ports will auto-negotiate speed and duplex and auto-MDI/MDIX will correct cable type automatically. Connect the power adapter and verify the link LEDs to ensure each port has established a connection. No additional configuration is required for basic operation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use quality CAT5e or CAT6 cables and place the switch in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources. If connecting to gigabit devices or networks, consider a gigabit switch instead, since this Fast Ethernet model supports up to 100 Mbps per port.
