The OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual is a high-performance external RAID enclosure designed for professionals who need reliable, fast, and flexible storage. With support for two 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives, this enclosure offers versatile RAID modes including RAID 0, RAID 1, SPAN, and JBOD, allowing you to optimize for speed, redundancy, or capacity. Featuring dual interfaces—USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) and eSATA (6 Gb/s)—it ensures broad compatibility with modern and legacy systems. The rugged aluminum construction provides excellent heat dissipation, while an integrated cooling fan maintains optimal operating temperatures. Hot-swap support and UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) enhance performance and convenience. Security is addressed with a Kensington lock slot, and LED indicators keep you informed of power, drive activity, and RAID status. This enclosure is ideal for creative professionals, IT administrators, and anyone requiring dependable external storage for backups, media editing, or data archiving.

Advantages

Dual interface connectivity (USB 3.1 Gen 1 and eSATA) ensures compatibility with a wide range of computers and devices. The aluminum housing not only looks professional but also acts as a heatsink, keeping drives cool during extended use. Hot-swap capability allows drive replacement without powering down, minimizing downtime. UASP support delivers faster data transfers compared to traditional USB 3.0. RAID flexibility lets you choose between performance (RAID 0), mirroring (RAID 1), or combining drives (SPAN/JBOD).
