Adaptador de ocular prismático de ângulo reto Skywatcher SW-7001 1,25 polegadas

The Skywatcher Right Angle Prismatic Eyepiece Adapter SW-7001 converts a straight-through telescope focuser to a 90° viewing orientation while accepting standard 1.25 inch eyepieces. It is intended to provide a more comfortable observing posture, especially when the telescope is pointed at high altitudes, and to facilitate viewing from different positions without repositioning the instrument. The adapter uses a prism-based optical path to maintain image orientation suitable for astronomical observation with minimal adjustment.

Advantages

The adapter provides a fixed 90° viewing angle that reduces neck strain during extended observing sessions. Its 1.25 inch format ensures compatibility with a wide range of common eyepieces, and the prismatic internal design preserves image clarity and field of view with minimal light loss. The mechanical connection is designed for secure mounting and quick installation or removal, making it practical for amateur astronomers and educational settings.

Suitable for

• Visual astronomy with refractors, reflectors or compound telescopes that accept 1.25" eyepieces
• Observing targets at high elevations where a straight-through eyepiece would require uncomfortable posture
• Educational demonstrations and outreach where spectators view from different angles

Key specifications

• Eyepiece interface: 1.25 inch (31.7 mm) standard
• Viewing angle: 90° right angle
• Optical element: prism-based right-angle construction
• Mechanical mounting: slip-in 1.25" barrel for standard focusers and eyepiece holders
• Intended use: visual observation with minimal image rotation for astronomy

How to use

Insert the adapter into the telescope focuser or diagonal opening as you would a standard 1.25 inch eyepiece barrel, then secure it using the focuser or diagonal retaining screw. Insert a 1.25 inch eyepiece into the adapter’s eyepiece holder and tighten the set screw or collet to hold the eyepiece in place. Focus the telescope as usual; the right-angle prism will direct the light path to a more convenient eyepoint. When changing eyepieces or removing the adapter, loosen the retaining screws and handle optical surfaces carefully to avoid smudges.

Recommendations

For best performance, keep the prism and barrel surfaces clean and avoid excessive force when tightening retaining screws. Use the adapter with eyepieces that match the telescope’s focal ratio to maintain comfortable eye relief, and store the adapter in a padded case when not in use to protect optical surfaces and mechanical parts.
