Splitter de rede NVIDIA AOC-Splitter IB Twin-Port HDR 4, adaptador de cabo ótico ativo Twin-Port InfiniBand

NVIDIA AOC splitter IB twin port HDR 4 is a twin-port Active Optical Cable (AOC) splitter engineered for InfiniBand networks. It enables splitting of a single HDR 4 optical link into two twin ports while preserving low latency and high bandwidth characteristics typical for InfiniBand HDR 4 environments. The adapter is intended for use in data center and high-performance computing configurations where compact optical connectivity and reliable signal integrity are required.

Advantages

The splitter supports HDR 4 data rates over active optical cable technology, maintaining signal quality across the split connection and reducing the need for additional electrical cabling. Its twin-port design conserves rack space and simplifies cabling topology by allowing two endpoints to share a single optical uplink. The adapter is passive to system configuration and compatible with InfiniBand link management, offering stable connections with minimal added latency.

Suitable for

• High-performance computing clusters requiring HDR 4 interconnects
• Data center server and switch topologies with limited optical ports
• Environments that demand low-latency, high-bandwidth InfiniBand links
• Cable consolidation when reorganizing rack or network layouts

Key specifications

• Interface type: InfiniBand HDR 4 compatible twin-port AOC splitter
• Function: Optical link splitting to two twin ports
• Transmission medium: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Performance characteristics: Designed to support HDR 4 bandwidth with low added latency
• Form factor: Compact twin-port adapter suitable for rack-mounted equipment
• Compatibility: Works with standard InfiniBand HDR link management and physical interfaces

How to use

Connect the AOC splitter to an HDR 4 optical uplink on a compatible InfiniBand host or switch, then attach the two downstream twin-port optical cables to the target devices. Verify link status and speeds using the host or switch management tools and ensure correct lane negotiation for HDR 4 operation. Follow standard data center handling procedures for optical components, including avoiding tight bends and securing connectors to prevent accidental disconnection.

Recommendations

Install the splitter in an environment that maintains recommended operating temperature and humidity for active optical components. Use manufacturer-qualified optical cables and verify firmware and driver compatibility on connected devices. For critical deployments, perform link validation and bandwidth testing after installation to confirm HDR 4 performance and expected latency characteristics.
