AOC CBO SFP+ AOC 10G 7M cabo de fibra ótica ativo para portas SFP+ (7 m)

The AOC CBO SFP+ AOC 10G 7M fiber active optical cable for SFP+ ports is a 7-metre direct-attach solution that supports 10 Gbps connectivity between compatible SFP+ ports. It integrates optical transceivers and multimode fiber into a single pre-terminated assembly to deliver high-speed links for short-reach connections in rack-to-rack, switch-to-switch and server-to-storage scenarios. The active optical design reduces electromagnetic interference and weight compared with copper DACs while maintaining low latency and stable throughput.

Advantages

This active optical cable provides 10 Gbps bandwidth over a 7 m reach with simplified installation — no separate transceivers or fibre terminations are required. The integrated optical components reduce power consumption and heat generation relative to some copper alternatives, and the optical medium offers immunity to electromagnetic interference for reliable signals in densely populated racks. Its light, flexible construction eases cable management and supports predictable performance in data centre environments.

Suitable for

• Short-reach interconnects between switches in the same rack or adjacent racks
• Server-to-switch or server-to-storage links requiring 10 Gbps
• High-density data centre cable management where low EMI is important

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Connector interface: SFP+ compatible plugs
• Length: 7 metres
• Transmission medium: Multimode optical fiber with integrated transceivers
• Typical use case: Short-reach rack-to-rack, switch-to-switch, server-to-storage

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ plug into the appropriate SFP+ port on network switches, servers or storage devices until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered and configured to support 10 Gbps SFP+ links; the cable presents as a direct SFP+ connection and does not require separate transceiver modules. Avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. Route the cable alongside existing cabling, using cable management hardware as needed to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use this 7 m active optical cable for short-reach links where reduced electromagnetic interference, lower weight and flexible routing are priorities. Verify compatibility with the device firmware and SFP+ port vendor guidelines before deployment, and follow standard data centre practices for rack cabling and airflow management.
