Cabo DAC CBO SFP28 25G 3 m (DAC-SFP-25G-3M-BL) Twinax passivo

CBO DAC-SFP-25G-3M-BL is a 3-meter passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) twinax cable with SFP28 connectors that supports 25 Gbit/s links. It is designed for short-reach, high-speed connections between switches, network interface cards (NICs) and servers. The cable provides a low-latency, low-power, plug-and-play solution suited to top-of-rack and server-to-server interconnects in data center environments, offering a cost-effective alternative to optical transceivers for distances up to a few meters.

Advantages

The passive twinax construction delivers stable 25GbE throughput with minimal signal processing and reduced power consumption compared with active optics. With fixed SFP28 form-factor connectors at both ends, the cable requires no additional configuration and is compatible with equipment that supports SFP28 DAC interfaces. Its short length and robust shielding reduce electromagnetic interference and maintain signal integrity for reliable short-distance links.

Suitable for

• Top-of-rack switch to switch uplinks in data centers
• Server-to-switch and server-to-server connections
• High-density rack deployments where short, low-latency links are required

Key specifications

• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s
• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Length: 3 meters
• Cable type: Passive Direct Attach Copper (twinax)
• Use case: Short-reach, single-segment interconnects
• Power profile: Low power consumption compared to active optics

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on network devices until the retention latch engages. Ensure both devices support passive SFP28 DAC connections and that the ports are powered off or following hot-swap guidelines per equipment manufacturer instructions where applicable. After connection, verify link status and speed on each device management interface. For best results, route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain near the connector heads.

Recommendations

Use this passive DAC cable for reliable short-distance 25GbE links within racks or adjacent racks; avoid using it for runs beyond the recommended short-reach distances. Confirm device compatibility with SFP28 passive twinax cables and follow rack cable management practices to maintain airflow and reduce strain on connectors.
