How to use

Select a rotary hammer drill with an SDS+ chuck and ensure the machine’s power and mode are suitable for diamond core drilling. Mark the hole position and, if possible, use a guide or pilot mark to stabilize the bit at start-up. Fit the Distar T-Concrete core bit into the SDS+ chuck until it locks. Start drilling at low speed to seat the bit, then apply steady pressure and use the hammer function as required for the substrate. Maintain a consistent feed rate without forcing the bit; allow the diamond segments to cut. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear dust and remove the core. Use water cooling where appropriate and compatible with the drill to extend segment life and reduce dust, following the drill manufacturer’s instructions.

Recommendations

For best results, use the core bit with an appropriate drill rated for concrete drilling, and consider wet drilling or intermittent flushing to reduce heat and dust. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection, gloves and respiratory protection when drilling.
