Rittal AX 1090.000 is a steel electrical enclosure with IP66 protection, measuring 600 mm wide, 250 mm deep and 1000 mm high. The enclosure is designed to house electrical and electronic components securely, offering protection against dust ingress and powerful water jets. Constructed from steel, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations where a robust, sealed cabinet is required. The product is supplied as a single unit and is intended for use as a control cabinet, junction enclosure or equipment mounting cabinet.

Advantages

The steel construction provides mechanical strength and dimensional stability for mounted components. IP66 protection ensures the enclosure is dust-tight and resists powerful water jets, making it suitable for harsh environments and wash-down areas. The cabinet’s standardized footprint and internal depth allow for straightforward installation of mounting plates, DIN rails and modular components. Supplied ready as a single unit, it reduces the need for additional assembly and simplifies procurement.

How to use

Before installation, verify the mounting location supports the cabinet weight and provides appropriate clearance for door operation and cable access. Install a compatible mounting plate or DIN rails inside the enclosure to secure electrical components. Route cable entries through appropriate glands or conduit fittings compatible with IP66 to maintain the protection rating. Follow applicable electrical and safety standards when wiring and grounding the enclosure; ensure any cutouts or additional openings are sealed with IP66-rated accessories.

Recommendations

For best results, select cable glands and external fittings rated for IP66 to preserve the enclosure’s ingress protection. When used outdoors or in corrosive environments, consider surface treatment or corrosion-resistant accessories to extend service life. Periodically inspect door seals and fasteners to ensure the enclosure maintains its protective rating.
