Key specifications

• Interface type: RS-232 serial port
• Designed for: integration with TOUGHBOOK G2 expansion system
• Weight: approximately 40 g
• Form factor: compact module for external attachment to the device

How to use

Install the serial port module into the designated expansion slot on the TOUGHBOOK G2 according to the device's user guide. Once attached and secured, connect the external RS-232 device using an appropriate serial cable. Configure the tablet's communication settings (baud rate, parity, stop bits, flow control) through the operating system or application software to match the connected peripheral. Verify the connection by sending and receiving data with the target device and confirm stable communication before deployment.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use shielded serial cables of appropriate length to reduce electrical interference. Match serial parameters between the TOUGHBOOK G2 and the peripheral device, and test communication in the intended environment. When operating in harsh conditions, ensure the module and cable connections are secured and protected from moisture and mechanical strain.
