How to use

Select an appropriate arbor and secure the hole saw to the drill according to the arbor manufacturer’s instructions. Mark the centre of the hole on the masonry surface and, if available, use a pilot bit to start a guide hole or an assistant centering tool. Position the hole saw perpendicular to the work surface, apply steady moderate pressure and run the drill at a suitable speed for masonry cutting. Periodically withdraw the hole saw to clear accumulated dust and debris and to cool the cutting edge. After completing the cut, remove any remaining loose material from the hole and inspect the edge for burrs before installing fittings or pipes.

Recommendations

When drilling in brick or sandstone, use a drill with sufficient torque and, if possible, a low to moderate speed setting. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and a dust mask.
