How to use

Connect the ASUS ZenDrive U8M to a compatible computer using the USB-C cable. For basic use, insert a compatible CD or DVD into the tray and close it; the operating system will detect the drive and allow media playback, file copying or disc burning. For M-DISC archival burns or encrypted discs, install and run the included Windows backup and disc tools (Nero BackItUp and the disc utility) and follow the on-screen steps to select files, set encryption/password options and start the burn process. Eject the disc using the drive button or the operating system eject command when finished.

Recommendations

Use M-DISC media for long-term archival storage and keep physical discs in protective cases away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Install the Windows backup suite included with the drive to access encryption and automated backup features; those utilities are not available on macOS.
