Zebra DS8208 AREA IMAGER SR CORDED - Leitor manual

Scanning dense or poorly printed barcodes can slow down checkout lines and warehouse operations. The Zebra DS8208-SR40004VZWW handheld area imager eliminates that bottleneck by capturing 1D, 2D, and PDF417 codes instantly, even from mobile screens or damaged labels. Its high-resolution 1280 x 800 sensor and aggressive motion tolerance keep productivity high in retail, healthcare, and logistics environments.

Who is it for

This corded scanner is built for businesses that need reliable, omnidirectional scanning at a fixed workstation. It suits point-of-sale counters, pharmacy dispensing, inventory management, and light industrial applications where a durable, plug-and-play device is essential. The DS8208 is an ideal upgrade for teams moving from laser scanners to 2D imaging, or for anyone who needs to read barcodes from smartphone screens.

Main features

• High-performance area imager: 1280 x 800 pixel sensor delivers fast, accurate reads of 1D, 2D, and PDF417 barcodes, including poorly printed or damaged codes.
• Omnidirectional scanning: No need to align the scanner; the wide 48° horizontal by 30.6° vertical field of view captures codes from any angle.
• Superior motion tolerance: Reads 13 mil UPC codes at speeds up to 610 cm/sec (240 in./sec), ideal for fast-paced environments.
• Rugged design: Withstands multiple 1.8 m (6 ft.) drops to concrete and 1,000 tumbles at 0.5 m (1.6 ft.), with an IP42 rating against dust and moisture.
• Flexible connectivity: Supports USB, RS-232, Keyboard Wedge, and TGCS (IBM) 46XX over RS485, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
• Intuitive aiming: Circular 617 nm amber LED and dual 660 nm red illumination LEDs provide clear targeting and reading.
