Cabo SAS BlueOptics QTAPCABLE-3M-BL 100 Gbit/s 3 m QSFP28 para 4xSFP28

The BlueOptics QTAPCABLE-3M-BL is a 3 m direct attach copper cable designed for 100 Gbit/s links. One end uses a QSFP28 connector and the other end breaks out to four SFP28 interfaces, enabling a compact connection between a 100G QSFP28 port and up to four 25G SFP28 ports. The cable is lightweight (approximately 260 g) and intended for short-reach interconnects in racks, server rows and switch deployments in data centers and high-performance computing environments.

Advantages

The cable supports a 100 Gbit/s aggregated data rate while providing four independent 25 Gbit/s SFP28 channels, simplifying migration and port consolidation without additional transceivers. As a direct attach solution it eliminates the need for separate optical transceivers and fiber patching for short distances, reducing component count and simplifying cable management. The integrated connectors are compliant with common MSA interface definitions, ensuring physical interoperability with QSFP28 and SFP28 ports that support DAC connections.

Suitable for

• Connecting a QSFP28 port to multiple SFP28 ports in top-of-rack or aggregation switches
• Short-reach 100G server-to-switch or switch-to-switch interconnects within racks
• High-performance computing clusters requiring port breakout for 25 Gbit/s links
• Environments where reduced latency and simplified cabling are priorities

Key specifications

• Data rate: 100 Gbit/s aggregated (4×25 Gbit/s breakout)
• Length: 3 metres
• Connector A: QSFP28 plug
• Connector B: 4 × SFP28 plugs (breakout)
• Weight: approximately 260 g
• Type: Direct Attach Copper (DAC) passive cable for short-reach links

How to use

Insert the QSFP28 connector into the host QSFP28 port and align each SFP28 connector with the corresponding SFP28 ports on the target device. Ensure that the host and target ports support direct attach copper connections and matching link speeds. After seating the connectors, check link status on the connected devices and, if required, configure the switch or host interfaces for the corresponding 25 Gbit/s or 100 Gbit/s operation. Avoid excessive bending near the connectors and maintain recommended rack routing to prevent mechanical stress.

Recommendations

Use this 3 m QSFP28-to-4×SFP28 DAC for intra-rack or adjacent-rack connections where short reach and simple cabling are required. Verify port compatibility with your equipment vendor documentation and, when possible, test the cable in your environment before wide deployment to confirm link stability and expected performance.
