MEAN WELL DCWN03B-05 conversor CC 3 W 18-36 V 300 mA

The MEAN WELL DCWN03B-05 electric converter 3 W 18-36 V 300 mA is a compact DC-DC converter designed for applications that require a stable low-power current source. It accepts a wide DC input voltage range from 18 V to 36 V and provides a regulated output current of 300 mA with a maximum power of 3 W, enabling it to drive LEDs, sensors, and small control electronics where controlled current is needed. Its small form factor and straightforward electrical characteristics make it suitable for integration into lighting fixtures, industrial control modules, and battery-powered systems.

Advantages

This converter offers efficient conversion within its specified input range and maintains a constant output current of 300 mA, which simplifies the design of current-driven loads. The compact size reduces space requirements in enclosures and allows for easy mounting. Built with predictable electrical behaviour, it reduces the need for additional external current-regulation circuitry and eases thermal planning for low-power applications.

Suitable for

• Driving LED arrays and single high-power LEDs requiring a 300 mA constant current
• Powering sensors and instrumentation that need a stable low-power source
• Integration into control modules, small industrial devices, and communication equipment
• Battery-powered systems where input voltages fall within 18–36 V range

Key specifications

• Input voltage range: 18–36 V DC
• Output mode: constant current
• Output current: 300 mA
• Maximum output power: 3 W
• Form factor: compact DC-DC converter suitable for panel or PCB mounting

How to use

Connect the converter to a DC supply within the 18–36 V range observing correct polarity. Connect the load to the output terminals, ensuring the load is rated for a constant 300 mA current and does not exceed the 3 W power limit. Verify connections and, if possible, measure output current and voltage under no-load and nominal-load conditions to confirm proper operation. Allow for adequate ventilation or mounting on a heat-dissipating surface for continuous operation within the rated power.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use wiring sized to minimize voltage drop between the supply and the converter. Avoid operating at input voltages near the lower or upper limits if the supply is unstable; provide a regulated input when possible. When driving LEDs, include appropriate connectors and fusing on the input side and ensure the LED forward voltage and combined load do not exceed the converter’s 3 W capacity.
